Professor Cheng Zhifan, a famous contemporary medical historian and medical history educator in China, honorary chairman of the Medical History Branch of Chinese Medical Association, former editor-in-chief and honorary editor-in-chief of Chinese Journal of Medical History, founder and first director of Peking University Medical History Research Center, honorary director of the center, and founder of first-class disciplines with master's degree and doctorate degree in medical history, died in Beijing on July 14, 2018 at the age of 96.
