From May 25 to 28, 2018, "Commemorating the 500th Anniversary of Li Shizhen's Birth and (2018) Li Shizhen International Summit Forum on Traditional Chinese Medicine and Health" was held in Qichun, Hubei Province, Li Shizhen's hometown. The conference was co-sponsored by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Hubei Provincial People's Government and China Merchants Group, and co-organized by Materia Medica Reading Club (Hong Kong), Li Shizhen Research Branch of Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Li Shizhen Medical Research and Application Professional Committee of World Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Pharmaceutical History Professional Committee of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association. Wang Guoqiang, former Party Secretary and Director of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, President of Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Huang Luqi, Vice Chairman of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association and Academician of Academy of Engineering, Jin Shiyuan and Li Diangui, masters of traditional Chinese medicine, attended the conference. Invited to attend were Michael Heinrich, former president of the World Society of Traditional Medicine, German translator Wen Shude and his wife, as well as many well-known scholars from Japan, South Korea, the United States, and more than 500 representatives from home and abroad. Zheng Jinsheng, former chairman of the Pharmaceutical History Committee of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, and Zhao Zhongzhen, Mei Quanxi, Cao Hui, Peng Yong, Xiao Yongzhi, Xiao Huang, Wang Shangyong, Wan Fang, Peng Huasheng and other members attended the grand event. The proceedings of the conference included 20 academic papers submitted by members of the Pharmaceutical History Committee.

The "Symposium on the History of Chinese Medicine in Japan" jointly organized by the Confucius Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Hyogo Medical University, the Institute of Humanities of Kyoto University, Japan and the Chinese Literature Research Museum was held at Kyoto University from June 15 to 17, 2018.

"Shen Nong Ben Jing Hui Tong" 10 volumes, Ming Teng Hong (Ke Zhai) written. The Library of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has the engraved edition of Ding Si in the 45th year of Wanli (1617), and it is photocopied and published according to the Collection of Uncollected Books in the Siku and the Encyclopedia of Ancient Books of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The abstract of the book "A Complete Collection of Ancient Books of Traditional Chinese Medicine" believes that the original author, Teng Hong, is a "native of Shaoyang County, Hunan Province", and the Essence of Famous Doctors' Classics in Hunan Province also believes that it is a native of Shaoyang and records it as a book, which is a big mistake.

The author's old work "History of the Controversy between Chinese and Western Medicine in Modern Times" has been affirmed by academic circles at home and abroad. By 2012, the old work has been published three times, but the author thinks that the old work has obvious shortcomings. Therefore, when Xueyuan Publishing House published the old work again in 2012, the author added a long foreword "Modern Celebrities on Chinese Medicine"^[1]As a supplement, but still not satisfactory.

During the Opium War, the powerful ships and guns of British imperialism opened the door of China, which brought a century of shame to the Chinese people, and also brought Western civilization including modern medicine and photography technology. Modern science and technology spread through missionaries who came to China, and its history was recorded and preserved by the missionaries' photographs of work or life. Quanzhou is adjacent to Xiamen, one of the five major trade ports, and is also the missionary center of southern Fujian. The first western hospital in southern Fujian was built in Quanzhou, and it has been passed on and developed to this day. It is Quanzhou Huishi Hospital, which was founded by the British Presbyterian Church in 1881, and is now the Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University. The author looks back on that history through some photos taken by missionary doctors at the time.

"Treasure of Eastern Medicine" was compiled by Xu Jun (1545-1615), a famous Korean doctor, based on his long-term clinical experience and referring to more than hundreds of volumes of medical books at home and abroad, with a brand-new system from 1596 to 1610, and published in 1611. It is a medical encyclopedia that collects the achievements of Korean medical development at the end of the 16th century. There are 25 volumes in the book, including 2 volumes of Catalogue, 4 volumes of Interior Scenery, 4 volumes of Appearance, 11 volumes of Miscellaneous Diseases, 3 volumes of Tang Liquid, and 1 volume of Acupuncture and Moxibustion^[1]158。 In his book, he emphasized the idea that physical and mental exercise must be the first priority to maintain health, followed by medicine and needles. Because of its collection of Oriental medicine, the Treasure of Oriental Medicine is called a scientific and theoretical Korean medical encyclopedia in Korea. Today, the scientific content and literary history value of the book are still highly appraised. Together with the collection of medical prescriptions and the collection of local medicine, it is known as the three major Korean medical books^[23]1。
