After the Revolution of 1911, both the Beiyang government and the Nanjing Kuomintang government had a deep prejudice against Chinese medicine, and even wanted to abolish Chinese medicine for a time. People of insight in the field of traditional Chinese medicine clearly see that if traditional Chinese medicine wants to save the nation, it is necessary to develop education and expand the cultivation of traditional Chinese medicine professionals. According to incomplete statistics, from the early years of the Republic of China to the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, nearly 80 Chinese medicine schools were opened all over the country[1]495-496。 Due to its unique geographical location, political factors and economic environment, Tianjin occupies an important position in the national TCM education. During the Republic of China, there were TCM education institutions in Tianjin, such as Tianjin Traditional Chinese Medicine School founded by Wei Jiaqian (1923) and Tianjin Chinese Medicine School founded by Ma Lesan (1928).
