heart failure, referred to as heart failure for short, is a clinical syndrome in which ventricular filling and ejection ability are impaired due to abnormal heart structure or function, which ultimately leads to decreased ventricular pumping function. It is the terminal stage of cardiovascular disease, with high mortality and poor prognosis. Heart failure is one of the earliest diseases recognized by human beings. As early as the 5th century BC, about 2,500 years ago, Hippocrates of Greece described the symptoms of heart failure of respiratory failure and systemic edema. After entering the 21st century, with the change of daily life behavior of Chinese residents, chronic diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, have become the main diseases that seriously threaten Chinese residents, and are one of the main causes of death. According to foreign statistics, the prevalence rate of central failure in the population is about 1.5% ~2.0%, while that of people over 65 years old can reach 6% ~10%. In the past 40 years, the mortality rate caused by heart failure has increased by 6 times. At present, the number of patients with heart failure in the world has reached 22.5 million, and it is still increasing at a rate of 2 million per year. The 5-year survival rate is similar to that of malignant tumors, which is the leading cause of death from cardiovascular diseases. The situation of prevention and treatment of heart failure in China is grim. The epidemiological survey in China in 2003 found that the prevalence of heart failure in Chinese adults was 0.9%[1]And is showing a growing trend. Heart failure has become a major public health problem worldwide.
