For a long time, both the state media and folklore have always believed that Lu Xun died of tuberculosis. In fact, as early as October 1949, on the occasion of commemorating the 13th anniversary of Lu Xun's death, Mr. Zhou Jianren questioned the cause of Lu Xun's death in the article "Lu Xun's illness was suspected to be delayed by Sudou"^[1]。 However, this has not attracted much attention. In 2001, Mr. Zhou Haiying, son of Lu Xun, published the article "About the Death of Father" in Harvest magazine^[2]Reiterating the cause of Lu Xun's death, naming and accusing Sudou, a Japanese doctor who treated Lu Xun, was widely spread in the media at home and abroad, causing widespread concern among Chinese people.

On August 2 – 5, 2015, the Second Annual Academic Meeting of the 14th Medical History Branch of Chinese Medical Association was held in Dalian, Liaoning Province. The conference was sponsored by the Medical History Branch of Chinese Medical Association and co-organized by Dalian University. The theme of the conference was "Medical History Research in a Multidisciplinary Context". There were 188 delegates from 24 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in mainland China, South Korea and Japan. The conference received 95 papers, covering many research fields such as the history of traditional Chinese medicine, the history of western medicine, the history of nursing, and the history of medical culture.
