Clinical photography in esthetic dentistry is an essential skill in clinical practice. It is widely applied clinically in multiple fields related to esthetic dentistry. Society of Esthetic Dentistry of Chinese Stomatological Association established a consensus for clinical photography and standards for images in esthetic dentistry in order to standardize domestic dental practitioners' procedure, and meet the demands of diagnosis and design in modern esthetic dentistry. It was also developed to facilitate domestic and international academic communication. Sixteen commonly used images in practice, which are of apparent importance in guiding esthetic analysis, design and implementation, are proposed in the standards. This consensus states the clinical significance of these images and the standard protocol of acquiring them.

Root canal treatment is the first choice for the treatment of pulp apical periodontitis. Following the operating specifications, the infection in the root canal system can be thoroughly removed, and the root canal system can be tightly sealed, which can obtain good curative effect^[1,2]。 When the root canal treatment is not perfect, or the infection inside and outside the root canal cannot be controlled due to the complex anatomical shape of the root canal system, the root canal treatment will fail^[3]。 In the case of failure, root canal retreatment, including non-surgical retreatment and surgical retreatment, can be used to further eliminate infection, to control inflammation and preserve the affected tooth, and also has a high success rate^[4,5]。 A case of failed root canal treatment of multiple maxillary anterior teeth was treated in the Department of Dentistry and Endodontics of Peking University School of Stomatology. After non-surgical retreatment and surgical retreatment, the final restoration was completed in the prosthodontics department after infection control, and the curative effect was satisfactory. In clinical oral implantation, peri-implant keratotic gingival defect or deficiency seriously affects the health of peri-implant tissue and the long-term success rate of implant. With the in-depth research on platelet rich fibrin (PRF), Choukroun et al^[1]It was found that PRF not only has good clinical effects in inflammation regulation and anti-infection, but also is rich in vascular endothelial growth factor, epithelial growth factor, platelet-derived growth factor and metastatic growth factor β, which can also promote the repair and regeneration of soft tissue, which opens up a new way for soft tissue defect repair in dentition defect implant restoration. A case of peri-implant keratotic gingival increment induced by PRF was admitted to the Department of Implantology, School of Stomatology, Jilin University, and is reported below.
