Whether the effect of exercise weight loss is still affected by gene polymorphism after obesity in individuals carrying obesity susceptibility genes is controversial in a few studies at home and abroad, and objectively, it needs to be studied for different races and different ethnic groups. The Health Management Research Institute of the Second Medical Center of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital, in conjunction with the scientific research team of Beijing Boao Jingdian Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and other institutions, found for the first time that there are differences in exercise weight loss effects of different FTO genotypes among Chinese Han adult obese people, especially among male obese people. From 2018 to 2019, 240 adult obese people (120 men and women, 28≤ BMI ≤40) were recruited in the Medical Weight Loss Clinic of the Institute of Health Management of the Second Medical Center of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital. The chronic disease exercise rehabilitation system jointly developed by Hefei Institute of Physical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences was used to carry out 12-week precise moderate-intensity aerobic exercise intervention for the subjects, accurately control the exercise intensity and amount, and perform FTO gene (rs8050136) typing test on the completers. The correlation between the degree of change of obesity-related indicators before and after exercise intervention and the single nucleotide polymorphism of FTO gene was analyzed. The study found that Chinese Han adult obese people who carried the FTO gene could lose weight through exercise, and among male obese people, those who carried the FTO gene had a more significant decrease in body weight and body mass index than those who did not. This finding suggests that in order to obtain better exercise weight loss effect, an individualized exercise weight loss plan can be formulated according to the results of genetic testing. For obese people who are judged to be slow in exercise weight loss by genetic testing, they can consider breaking through the limitations of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise and increasing the weight loss speed through a new combination of exercise elements.
