Anus-preserving treatment of ultra-low rectal cancer has always been a challenge in clinical medicine. Surgical procedures often lead to impaired structure and function of the anus, and poor quality of life of patients after surgery[1,2]。125I Radioactive seed implantation as an internal radiotherapy means has shown significant advantages in local control of tumor growth and reduction of treatment adverse reactions. Compared with traditional surgical treatment,125I Radioactive seed implantation can better protect the anal and rectal structures and reduce the risk of postoperative anal function damage. In combination with systemic chemotherapy, the local control rate is improved and the risk of metastasis is reduced. This treatment method provides an effective new method of anus-preserving treatment for patients with ultra-low rectal cancer. Through a case report, this paper discusses the125I Application and efficacy of radioactive seed implantation combined with oxaliplatin plus capecitabine (CAPEOX) chemotherapy regimen in patients with ultra-low rectal cancer, aiming to provide new therapeutic strategies and clinical references for this class of patients.
