Huang Tingjing, whose name is Yantai and whose name is Buchenzi, was a native of Suichuan, Fujian Province. He was a famous ophthalmologist in the Yong and Qian dynasties of the middle Qing Dynasty. He was born in 1704 AD and died in an unknown year. Huang Tingjing is the author of 3 volumes of ophthalmology medical book "Mu Jing Dacheng", which is a classic work of ophthalmology in traditional Chinese medicine and has a profound influence on later generations. Huang Tingjing was born in a scholarly family. When he was a teenager, he studied classics and history. Later, he suffered a double blow from the failure of scientific examination and the death of his loving father. As a result, he was excessively sad and destroyed by emotion, which damaged his eyes and suffered from eye diseases. Therefore, he gave up the imperial examination, went wild, traveled in the mountains and rivers, and abandoned his home to travel far away. Because Huang Tingjing gave up the imperial examination and suffered from eye disease, he gradually became interested in medicine. When I was in my 20s, I recalled the pre-Confucian saying that "I wasted my years, without grace to others, and directly created the excess things in my fortune"[1]21He suddenly realized that he was studying hard to study medicine, especially in ophthalmology. After several years of study, his medical skills were successful, and he soon surpassed some prestigious veteran doctors. However, in the treatment of cataract, head wind and other diseases, especially ophthalmic acupuncture, Huang Tingjing feels that he has not yet made a big breakthrough. According to Huang Tingjing's self-report, someone once told him that there was a hermit named Peifengshan who was good at treating ophthalmic cataracts and other diseases, so he pleaded with him to see him, so that he could see Peifengshan and worship him. Peifeng Mountain did not hide anything and passed on all the key techniques of ophthalmology to Huang Tingjing. As for the Peifengshan people mentioned in Huang Tingjing's medical experience, some scholars in the past thought that they were fictional characters, while others thought that they were real, and thought that Peifengshan people were from Jiangxia (Wuchang, Hubei Province). After many investigations, the author has made some new discoveries about Huang Tingjing's teacher Peifengshan people, and drew some conclusions different from the past, which are discussed as follows.
