The evolution of human beings in China lasted for 2 million years, and went through three stages: Homo erectus (ape man), early Homo sapiens (ancient man) and late Homo sapiens (new man). So far, Homo erectus found in China lived 1.7 million to 200,000 years ago, and the fossil specimens include Yuanmou Man, Lantian Man, Yunxian Man, Beijing Man, Hexian Man, Nanjing Tangshan Man, etc. Early Homo sapiens (ancient Homo sapiens) lived 300,000~100,000 years ago, and human fossils included Maba Man, Changyang Man, Jinniushan Man, Chaoxian Man, Xuchang Man, Dali Man, Xujiayao Man, etc. Late Homo sapiens (anatomically modern man) dates back 100,000 to 10,000 years ago, including Liujiang people, Zhoukoudian Tianyuan Cave people, Zhoukoudian Mountain Cave people, Guangxi Chongzuo people, Ziyang people, etc. Homo erectus, early Homo sapiens, and late Homo sapiens all gathered and hunted for a living, using more primitive stone tools, so the era in which they lived is collectively called the Paleolithic. About 10,000 years ago, when human beings entered the New Time Age, the ancient residents began to settle in farming life, and their physical characteristics are no different from those of modern residents. After the Neolithic Age, mankind entered the history of civilization, and Xia Dynasty was the first dynasty to enter the history of civilization.
