I still treasure a precious group photo from the 1990s (Figure 1). It was taken after the defense of my doctoral dissertation, and it is also the most memorable picture of my life. At that time, Teacher Meng Xianmin had just undergone a major operation, had not yet been discharged from the hospital, and his body was still recovering. He should have rested with peace of mind, but he insisted on coming to the defense site in a wheelchair, attended the whole process, and paid close attention to all aspects of my defense. As a doctoral student of Teacher Meng, I was full of gratitude for being able to complete my studies and successfully defend under the guard of my mentor's postoperative illness. After the defense, we took this group photo, which has become the most precious memory of my decades of practicing medicine. As the years pass, every time I stare at this photo, I will always open the floodgate of my memory. Standing at the back of the road of practicing medicine, I can always see the light that illuminates my life, and meet the teacher who is worthy of my life's gratitude and follow.
