The United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR) study shows that the largest source of ionizing radiation to which humans are exposed is medical exposure[1]。 The investigation of medical exposure frequency plays an important role in radiation practice, and is of great significance for reasonable utilization and development of various radiation diagnosis and treatment technologies, grasping the trend of medical exposure, accurately estimating the dose of medical exposure, timely warning of possible radiation protection problems, and reducing the possible radiation harm to individuals and groups[2]。 However, after the national medical exposure frequency survey in 1990, the data of medical exposure frequency has not been updated in Fujian Province for many years. According to the requirements of the national medical exposure dose and frequency survey scheme, this study further improved the medical exposure frequency survey scheme and related survey forms through the pre-survey of the medical exposure status of 7 hospitals (accounting for about 5% of the total number of medical radiation institutions in Fujian Province), and made preparations for the general survey of medical exposure frequency in the whole province.
