Oral diseases are one of the common and frequently occurring diseases of human beings, which seriously endanger human health. Developing stomatological education and training stomatologists is one of the important tasks of modern medical education, but higher stomatological education in China began to be established at the beginning of the 20th century. In recent years, domestic research on the history of higher stomatological education in China has been carried out. For example, Zhou Xuedong's "Development History of Modern Higher Stomatological Education in China" expounds the dental colleges and departments founded before 1949[1]。 However, it only introduces the situation of the initial period of dental education in Harbin, and does not introduce the overall development of dental education in Harbin in detail. There are also some research works on the history of medical development in Harbin, involving the education of stomatology in Harbin, such as "Early Western Medicine Hospital in Harbin (1900-1932)" and "Overview of Early Medical and Health History in Harbin" published in Chinese Journal of Medical History, but they are brief. Stomatology education in Harbin started early. This article reviews the early development of dental education in Harbin according to local literature, in order to supplement the shortcomings of the research on the development history of stomatology education in China, and at the same time provide reference for the research on local history and school history of Harbin Medical University.
