Longsha Medical School is a medical school originating from Longshan and Shashan areas of Huashu (also known as Huashi) in Jiangyin. The name of Longsha is due to the fact that there are two mountain ranges, Bailong Mountain and Shashan Mountain, in Huashi area of Jiangyin, which are collectively called Longsha. Du Shenyan of the Tang Dynasty wrote a poem in Huashi entitled "Banquet in Jiangyin on the Ninth Day": "The crickets return late, and the dogwood festival is new... Longsha (sand) is this place, and the old custom is to sit as a neighbor." Wang Jiamei of the Qing Dynasty wrote a manuscript named after Longsha, "Longsha Zhilue" and "Longsha Poetry Cun".
