Time goes by, and the years go by. The Chinese Journal of Nephrology, which was founded in 1985, has passed its thirties, and it is in its prime. On this occasion of farewell to the old and welcoming the new, on behalf of the editorial board of Chinese Journal of Nephrology, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and wishes for the new year to the successive editor-in-chief, deputy editor-in-chief, editorial board, special reviewers, editors, authors and readers who have contributed to the development and progress of the journal!
It is estimated that by 2040, diabetic kidney disease (DKD) will become the leading cause of dialysis treatment for patients with end-stage kidney disease in my country[
A 51-year-old male was admitted to the hospital on 29 May 2017 due to "urine test after 4 years of kidney donation and abnormal renal function for 2 months". No previous history of disease. His daughter was diagnosed with "chronic glomerulonephritis and end-stage renal disease" in March 2011 and underwent regular dialysis. The patient was screened as a relative donor in 2012. Blood pressure at that time was 125/80 mmHg, auxiliary examination: blood routine: white blood cell count (WBC) 7.5×109/L, hemoglobin (Hb) 174 g/L; No abnormalities were found in routine urine tests; Blood biochemistry: alanine aminotransferase (ALT) 51.2 U/L, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) 39.1 U/L, serum creatinine (Scr) 69.0 μ mol/L, urea nitrogen (BUN) 3.79 mmol/L; CT angiography (CTA): No obvious abnormalities in middle abdomen; Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) was examined by emission computed tomography (ECT): left kidney GFR 45.6 ml/min, right kidney GFR 42.3 ml/min [reference value: (105.0±25.0) ml/min]; CT examination: patches and cord shadows in the upper lobe of the right lung and the lower lobes of both lungs, considering old foci. His left kidney was successfully transplanted to his daughter on April 22, 2013. There were no obvious complications between donors and recipients during surgery. After discharge, the recipient Scr fluctuated from 44.0 to 90.0 μ mol/L, and no anti-glomerular basement membrane (GBM) antibody was detected. The concentration of anti-GBM antibody in 2017<2.0 RU/ml; The donor's Scr was 104.4 μ mol/L only in June 2013. No abnormalities were found in routine urine tests, and urine microalbumin was not followed up regularly as required.
