In recent decades, with the development of science and technology, the progress of advanced manufacturing industry and the popularization of navigation and three-dimensional imaging technology, the research and development and application of medical robots have attracted more and more attention. Da Vinci surgical assisted robot system has been widely used in various clinical operations, and is popular for its minimally invasive, accurate and safe characteristics. Different from industrial and aviation robots, medical robots fully combine medicine and engineering and give full play to their respective advantages to maximize human-machine cooperation; Compared with traditional medicine, robot-assisted diagnosis and treatment has unique advantages in pre-diagnosis and treatment design, path planning, minimally invasive, visualization, virtual and remote operation^[1]。 The oral diagnosis and treatment process requires high personalization, the anatomical structure of the oral craniomaxillofacial region is complex, and the visual field of diagnosis and treatment operation is narrow. However, traditional diagnosis and treatment operations, such as oral and maxillofacial tumor surgery, have large surgical incisions, which can seriously affect the aesthetic appearance of patients^[2]。 Robot-assisted diagnosis and treatment extends the visual range and operable space of physicians, can achieve precise treatment, reduce trauma, and open up a new development direction of minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment^[1,3]。

According to needs of clinical diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease in China, the Chinese Stomatological Association initiated the workshop of 'consensus of Chinese experts on treatment of severe periodontitis' by the specialized committee expert group. In February 2017, the first part of the consensus was released [Chin J Stomatol, 2017, 52(2): 67-71]. The present report is the second part of the consensus, regarding the surgical treatment of severe periodontitis. The group believes that after initial treatment and reevaluation, some patients with severe periodontitis, can be considered to be performed with surgical treatment. When clinicians choose surgical treatment, the design of surgical methods should be guided by the objective of the operation. Therefore, in this consensus, Chinese experts put forward the objectives of surigical treatment into two kinds of objective, periodontal debridement and augmentation of periodontal tissue.

erosive tooth wear, commonly known as acid erosion, refers to the progressive loss of tooth hard tissue caused by chemical and mechanical factors. Various internal and exogenous acids acting on susceptible teeth are the main cause of acid erosion^[1]。 In recent years, with the development of repair materials and modern bonding technology, more and more scholars have chosen minimally invasive methods to treat patients with acid erosion^[2]。 This paper introduces the process of minimally invasive restoration of a patient with acid erosion caused by severe tooth wear due to gastroesophageal refluxThe force analyzer monitors occlusal changes during treatment.

Sufficient bone mass, healthy peri-implant soft tissue, and proper implant location are the necessary conditions for successful implant restoration in the upper anterior area^[1]。 How to preserve the bone contour of the anterior tooth implant area to the maximum extent and avoid labial bone plate resorption and soft tissue collapse is an important issue that clinicians must face. A case of repairing aesthetic defects of upper anterior teeth using site preservation and digital implant guide technique is reported.

Autologous tooth graft is the transplantation of teeth from one location to another in the same individual and involves the transplantation of an embedded, impacted, or erupted tooth into a surgically prepared alveolar socket^[1]。 In the process of autologous tooth grafting, impacted or non-functional third molars are often used as donors^[2]。 The morphological variation of the third molar with closed apical foramen and the matching of the morphology with the graft area can affect the operation time and whether the graft can be continued, which limits the application of autologous tooth graft technology. The third molar can be modified by surgical operation to adapt to the shape of the transplantation area, shorten the operation time, expand the surgical indication of autologous tooth transplantation, and improve the success rate of transplantation. This paper reports a case of maxillary third molar with closed apical foramen, which was successfully restored by autograft after hemictomy. Follow-up for 27 months, good functional and aesthetic results were achieved.
