Advanced MRI technology can detect tissue microcirculation, and it may be used as a technology to detect imaging biomarkers, and applied to all stages of disease management, including early detection and diagnosis of diseases, efficacy monitoring, prognosis evaluation, etc. These imaging technologies include arterial spin labeling (ASL), perfusion weighted imaging (PWI), blood oxygeon level dependent MRI, and dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) -MRI technology. Among them, DCE-MRI can not only evaluate the blood flow of tissues, but also provide multiple microcirculation parameters to quantify and reflect the pathophysiological characteristics of tissues. It is undoubtedly a very promising technology, which is worthy of in-depth study and clinical promotion.
The theme of the Asian Annual Conference on Cardiovascular Imaging held in South Korea in June 2014 was the quantization leap of cardiovascular imaging technology (Heartbeat for Quantum Jump in Cardiovascular Imaging). As the vice president of the Asian Society of Cardiovascular Imaging, the author was fortunate to participate in the planning of the whole conference, witnessed the whole process of the whole conference, and thought a lot and felt a lot. Looking back at the past, the wind and rain have forged, and the years are like songs. Looking forward to the future, there is a long way to go.
Quantitative MRI can not only provide basic structural information of tissues and organs, but also provide rich biological and pathophysiological information during the development of lesions. It is a hot spot in international MRI application research. dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) -MRI is a very valuable quantitative MRI technique, which has played a great role in clinical research. Because the pathophysiological information obtained is influenced by imaging equipment, imaging technology, analysis methods and individual differences of patients, the results vary greatly, and its clinical application is challenging, and its potential needs to be developed urgently.
MRS is currently the only MRI technology that can evaluate the metabolic level of living tissue.31P-MRS has been recognized as the gold standard for non-invasive detection of skeletal muscle energy metabolism and mitochondrial function during exercise[
