From 1964 to 1996, China conducted 45 nuclear tests, including 23 atmospheric tests and 22 underground tests. Among the 23 atmospheric nuclear tests, 20 animal effects were studied[1]Among them, 6 times, 10 batches of 650 personnel from field hospitals or division hospitals organized by Guangzhou, Beijing, Shenyang, Jinan, Nanjing, Chengdu, Wuhan and Xinjiang military regions, air force and armored forces (Great Northwest Great Gobi Undertaking-China's Nuclear Weapon Effect Test Record, Secret, 2002) conducted medical service drills (hereinafter referred to as drills) with graded treatment as the main content of "Treating the Wounded under the Condition of Nuclear War". The drill was conducted under the direct leadership and guidance of the Effect Brigade of the General Logistics Department of the People's Liberation Army and the Health Service Research Office of the Ministry of Health of the General Logistics Department. Chen Guangming, Zhang Weiji and other comrades devoted a lot of effort and condensed the hardships and wisdom of the majority of participants. Although these drills were carried out more than 30 years ago, because of their authenticity (the real treatment of nuclear injury at the site of nuclear weapon explosion), large number (the treatment of a large number of "wounded" replaced by injured animals), multiple times (10 batches) and comprehensive (different explosion equivalents and methods, multiple types of nuclear injury), the comprehensive analysis on the basis of repeated practice, the obtained data, experience and achievements are extremely fruitful, precious and irreplaceable, and still have important practical significance today. This kind of drill is rarely carried out in China and even internationally, and will not be carried out again in the future.
